USTC Admission Process Overview:
The admission process at the University of Science and Technology
of China (USTC) is a detailed, multi-step procedure designed to ensure the
selection of qualified and deserving candidates. The process involves several
rounds of review and evaluation, ensuring that applicants meet all academic and
personal criteria. Below is an outline of the process:
- First Round Review:
The first step involves reviewing
applicants' eligibility and submitted documents by the International
College. Applications are checked for completeness, and only eligible
candidates move forward.
- Second Round Review:
In the second round, respective schools
and departments assess the applications more closely. They select
candidates to be interviewed based on academic qualifications and research
potential.
- Interview:
Selected candidates undergo interviews
where their academic capabilities, research interests, and alignment with
potential supervisors are evaluated. This step helps match candidates with
suitable supervisors.
- USTC Final Review:
After interviews, the USTC Selection
Committee conducts a final review to select the most qualified
candidates for admission. The committee ranks candidates and ensures that
they meet the university's standards.
- ANSO/CSC Review: Finally, selected candidates undergo review by ANSO (Alliance of International Science Organizations) or the China Scholarship Council (CSC). This review determines the final approval for admission and scholarship awards.
