Md. Abu Kawsar is currently working as an Assistant Professor (Study Leave) at the Department of Aquaculture, Faculty of Fisheries, Sylhet Agricultural University, Bangladesh. He obtained his B.Sc. Fisheries (Hons.) degree in 2012 with distinction from Sylhet Agricultural University. He received his Master of Science in Aquaculture from the same university in 2014. He was actively engaged with the aquaculture industry and consulting services for almost 5 years in the early stages of his career. He previously worked as a service executive for a leading pharma industry in the country, where he received the best executive award of 2018 during his tenure. He was involved in providing innovative expert advice on technology transfer, aquaculture farm management services, and the implementation and propagation of modern technology in existing aquaculture farms using best fisheries management practices. He conducted more than 100 training programs on aquaculture activities with farmers, aquaculture professionals, NGOs, and universities throughout the country. He is now pursuing his Ph.D. at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, China.
