Gazi Tawfiq Ezaz, Nanjing, China:  New Type of Coronavirus (Covid-19) causes an outbreak of unknown pneumonia in China especially in Hubei Province, China.  As this is a new Virus, Physicians, as well as health experts, are trying hard to find a suitable way to prevent it. The World Health Organization (WHO) has named this virus as Covid-19.  I am a PhD student of Hohai University and living in Nanjing, China since 2016.  I like China because in my opinion, China is one of the foreign student’s favorable countries.  China is a safe place to study as well as conduct high-quality academic research.

Response From China- Although this New Coronavirus making a bit of tension among people but I believe that the Chinese Government is trying best to prevent this virus and making awareness among International students living in China.  Mr. Xi Jinping, President of the P.R. China urged efforts to include biological safety in the National security system, stronger legal support in public health and scaling up lawmaking in the area across the board. Mr. President also called for reforms to the disease control and prevention system for better health safety in China (Source-China Daily).

Online Education- Hohai University is going to offer online courses for all students in order to avoid semester delay, so it will help students to graduate on time. Hohai University (HHU) providing E-Hohai APP for distance learning.  In addition, through the online system of HHU-Library, students can able to access to all necessary documents (Scientific Journal, Textbooks, Dissertation submission) for research.

Health Checking- Hohai University is providing constant support to all International students living in the dormitory. For example- International School personnel from Hohai University working hard to provide better living conditions for students.  In our Dormitory security is tightened, so before entering or exiting from campus security person is checking the temperature of students. Also, each day dormitory staffs are helping students to check their body temperature and making the living environment hygiene.  Our University already provided some masks to students as no one is allowed to go out without wearing a mask.
